The coir bedding is what you lay down on top of a sheet of newspaper when setting up your Wormery. With Tiger Wormeries, we send a bag of what looks like soil and a block. You can use either or both.
With the soil, spray it to make it damp to the touch and with the block, put it in a container, ensuring that it's covered with water and allow it to expand for about 20-30 minutes.
Then squeeze out the excess moisture and spread on top of the newspaper. A coir mat is a different product and resembles a hanging basket lining and that is designed to absorb moisture and attract burrowing worms upwards.
